Biography
Andrea Pizzi is postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Supramolecular BioNano materials (SupraBioNanoLab) in Politecnico di Milano. He obtained a MS in Industrial and Managerial Chemistry (2011) from the University of Milan and then he had an experience in a pharmaceutical industry in the quality assurance department. He obtained the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in 2017 from Politecnico di Milano. During the PhD he worked on the European Research Council project “FOLDHALO – Folding with Halogen Bonding” under the supervision of Professor Pierangelo Metrangolo. During the PhD he was visiting student at VTT- Technical Research centre of Finland, in Helsinki. His scientific interest deals with protein crystallography and the development of self-assembled biomaterials modified with halogen atoms.
