Biography
Dr Chris Coxon is Senior Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. His lab’s research is focussed on developing peptide-based chemical probes and medicines for neurological and neurodegenerative diseases – specifically migraine and Parkinson’s disease. His team has specific interest in peptide synthesis, modification (e.g. stapling and bioconjugation) DMPK evaluation and using fluorinated peptides to understand protein folding. He co-founded and is Director of Pepmotec Ltd – a bespoke peptide synthesis spin-out company. He is also a committee member of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Protein & Peptide Science Group.
