Dr. Kandasamy is Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Wave Life Sciences. He focuses on the application of backbone chemistry to improve the pharmacology of oligonucleotides across modalities including silencing (ASO and siRNA), skipping, and editing. Prior to joining Wave, he worked at Alnylam for 5 years and played key role in developing siRNA delivery technologies (both GalNAc and LNP), which led to many approved drugs. He has >15 years of industrial experience and has authored >30 peer-reviewed publications and >20 patents. He earned his Ph.D. in synthetic carbohydrate chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology.
